From Southampton to Rigul, with love.

Bodhicharya Buddhist Group Southampton: A report from Margaret Richardson

One of the main thrusts of the Southampton group is having a compassionate view to helping the folk in Rigul, Tibet,  birthplace of Ringu Tulku Rinpoche and we raise awareness and funds for the health clinic, and the school. This is the group action part of the buddhist practice of View, Meditation and Action.

We are so grateful to the teachings received through Ringu Tulku Rinpoche that we show gratitude and appreciation to him by helping his folk in Rigul, Tibet, his birthplace. Here are some of the activities : On Friday May 26th  Bodhicharya Buddhist Group Southampton and the Hampshire Buddhist Society hosted a public talk given by Ringu Tulku Rinpoche, on the subject of looking at Living without Fear and Anger. We were so pleased. The auditorium was packed and Rinpoche was warmly received. Everyone was most generous. There were donations to fund the doctor for a whole year in Rinpoche’s village in Tibet and some left over to give to the school children. On Saturday May 27th we hosted a Rigul Charity Supper. The food was delicious, the place settings attractive and beautiful scented floral decorations adorned each table. We planned, cooked a scrumptious 3 course meal and waited on 40 people. With the lights dimmed, the candles lit, Rinpoche led us with silent  meditation and a Tibetan Grace.  After the meal, Rinpoche talked about his historic pilgrimage to Rigul and Tibet in 2005.
The donations will help fund the Health Clinic.

A CD with over 100 photos of Rinpoche’s weekend with us is available  cost £5.00 plus 50p postage. Proceeds to health clinic and children in Rigul. Cheques to Rigul Foundation
