Happy New Year

Under the Bodhi tree dawn to dusk,

I prayed with monks, nuns and people around the world.

The melodies of chants, the sweet calls of birds and the wise words of Karmapa brought me peace and joy.

I share this joyful tranquility to all who love me and those who hate me too.

May you enjoy a happy New Year.

Poetry book for H.H. Karmapa

Dear friends,
I hope you are all well.

In celebration of HH Karmapa’s proposed visit to Europe in 2010, Bodhicharya Publications is planning to publish a book of poetry, inspirational prayers and songs, that will be offered to His Holiness by Ringu Tulku next year. We are now looking for contributions from Bodhicharya students and friends to include in this book.

Contributions will be appreciated in English, French and German but we would also be grateful for English translations from the original French and German. If you are unable to translate from French and German please let me know and I will put you in contact with one of our translators. You can send up to five contributions and the Bodhicharya editing group will decide which poems etc to include in this publication. However, if your poem is not chosen for this publication this time we may still use it for future volumes of poetry published by Bodhicharya in the coming years.

Please send me any contributions by the end of September 2009. We are also looking for drawings, illustrations or original photographs to include. Don’t hesitate to contact me if you want to know more.

with love and best wishes,

Margaret Ford
